Meet our Governors

LOCAL GOVERNING BODY

Co-opted Governors

Nick Boddington

I am currently a community governor at KGGS in Grantham with particular emphasis on finance and risk management.

Previously I was Chair of Governors at Gonerby Hill Foot primary. I supported the senior leadership team through their most recent OFSTED inspection, the report is on their website if you wish to peruse.

I am delighted to be involved with Poplar Farm Primary School as I believe the initiation of a new school and governing body to be both a great challenge and an outstanding opportunity to shape the future lives of Grantham children.

I live in the locality so I want the local community to have a thriving and forward thinking school - something that Poplar Farm School seeks to deliver.

Professionally I am a bank manager with key skills within recruitment, HR, risk management and building lasting client relationships.

I am a qualified RFU rugby coach, sit on the South Lincs Dementia Action Alliance committee and I love to give back to the community.

I can add great value to Poplar Farm School and feel that I can support our ambitious plans.

Lynne Proctor

I am a retired deputy head with over thirty years experience. I quickly found that I enjoyed teaching in EY and KS1 and developed an interest in early reading, writing and phonics. I began to specialise in this area and have shared my expertise with many other colleagues, students and parents through workshops, courses, staff meetings and team teaching. I have also worked with the University of Hertfordshire.

My experience will best serve in the area of curriculum/education.

After travelling during my first year of retirement, having a hip replacement this year and moving back to my home town, I now feel ready for another challenge - albeit less stressful than the last two!

My enthusiasm for teaching and learning has never changed and if I can continue to support education via a governing body then I am happy to do so.

Pamela Townsend

I have B’Ed (Primary) and NPQH qualifications.

I taught at Walton Girls’ High School for 31 years and spent many years as Assistant Principal responsible for Behaviour and Safety and Primary Liaison. I retired in 2015, however I still teach there ‘on supply’.

I have always thought how exciting it would be to be involved with shaping a new school. Having worked closely with Governors I understand the importance of their role. I believe senior leadership experience could be useful in a Governing Body and I have time to become fully involved with school activities and commit to Governor' requirements.

Brian Buttery

I was born in Grantham 78 years ago and attended The Spittlegate Boys School and The Kings School.

I have previously been clerk to 2 governing bodies in Grantham from 1986 to 2003 and afterwards was a governor at Walton Girls’ from 2003 until 2015. I was Chair of Governors from 2010 to 2012. My skill set was in Appeals, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Curriculum, Risk Management, Pay Review, and general purposes.

I am very much looking forward to being part of a governing body again and supporting Poplar Farm Primary School.

My hobbies include magazine editing, photography, IT, drama and bell ringing.

Parent Ambassador Governors

Kristy Templeton

I currently work for HLNY CRC probation, managing 11 multi discipline staff covering a wide range of roles including HR functions such as recruitment and selection, sickness, disciplinary, capability and supervision and appraisal. My team delivers community payback for the whole of greater Lincolnshire which requires problem solving skills and lots of logistics. As part of my role I also write and quality assure risk assessments and court reports, complete investigations and complaint reports as well as serious further offence reports as required by the justice department.

I am looking forward to becoming a governor to support Poplar Farm School and the local community.
